São Tomé and Príncipe: most beautiful island nation in Central Africa. It’s economy, traditionally dependent on cocoa, is experiencing considerable changes due to investment in the development of its oil industry in the oil-rich waters of the Gulf of Guinea. The country is part of PALOP, The Portuguese-speaking African countries Association (also referred to as Lusophone Africa) consist of six African countries in which the Portuguese language is an official language: Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and, since 2011, Equatorial Guinea.The six countries are former colonies of the Portuguese Empire
